A human-first airport for a city being built from scratch
NEOM Bay Airport is the gateway to NEOM. The brief was a family of airport applications that turn a stressful, fragmented journey into a calm one, covering arrivals, departures, check-in and boarding for passengers and for the people who run the airport.
Too many touchpoints, too many tools
Airports are fast, stressful environments where passengers juggle separate touchpoints for check-in, boarding, arrivals and departures, and operations teams work across just as many disconnected tools.
NEOM wanted a human-first digital journey that matched its ambition for the future of travel.
Lead design across five connected apps
As Manager, Product Design at NEOM, I led the design of a unified family of airport applications, working closely with the NEOM mobility team. Five mobile apps were delivered across passenger and operations experiences.

Design one journey, not five apps
We designed the apps around the journey from gate to ground, so each one shows the right thing at the right stage of travel, for passengers and for operations.
Calls that shaped the apps
One family of apps
Passenger and operations experiences designed as one connected system rather than separate tools.
Show features only when needed
The apps adapt to the flight and journey stage instead of exposing everything at once.
Calm interfaces in a fast-paced space
Journey-aware
Features surface based on the passenger's flight, behaviour and stage of the journey.
Fast boarding
QR-based boarding and personalised lounge notifications.
Always up to date
Real-time updates and indoor navigation.
Designed for everyone
Multi-language onboarding and assistance, and flight-aware dashboards, from first-time tourists to pilots and crew.
The interface

Five apps, one coherent journey
Five apps were delivered across the NEOM Airport ecosystem in six months, in June 2024, giving passengers and operations one coherent experience.
